Touted as the only B&B in Myrtle proper, this is a cute little place two leisurely blocks from the public beachfront. Our room was named (all of the rooms had names) "Lavender and Old Lace". Each room has some kind of period theme, and I guess ours was some kind of old New Englandy theme with white wicker and floral comforters. The place has some years on it, visible in the slight peel of the wallpaper and the sometimes too noisy window air-conditioner. But it's a clean place and the beds are pretty comfy, and the breakfast portion was tasty. There's your yogurt, bagels and muffins, and one hot offering like a quiche or hash. The owners are a pleasant older couple who hold a nice conversation over coffee without being too nosy or intrusive. Then of course there's the bottom line, and thats a cozy room close to the beach that can sleep up to four comfortably with private bathroom and kitchen for just over a bill in the summer and as low as 60 bucks in the off season. Nice.

My boyfriend and I had a short but WONDERFUL stay at the Serendipity Inn. We were visiting during the incredibly packed Memorial Day weekend which coincided with bike week and resulted in most hotels being at capacity. I left my contact information with the owner and he called me back when a room opened up for the night. He greeted us at the door and showed us to our good sized room with a four poster bed and many books that were there for our use. The inn is charming and just a few minute walk from the beach. The included breakfast had fresh strawberries, pineapple, and melon, bagels, muffins, a pastry, and a potato/egg/sausage dish. When we stated that we would like to eat outside the owner rushed to provide us with plastic ware that we could use to eat at one of the many small tables around the pool deck. The inn was older but well kept, quiet, clean, and very affordably priced. They had a pool and hot tub which I did not use, but looked clean. I would definitely come back here and stay longer next time.

The two star is for the distance to the beach. This place is a motel version of BB. Overall, this is one of the worst BBs I have been to. The whole stay is very uncomfortable, 99 a night, cheap is cheap. I wouldn't mind paying more to live somewhere better next time. Owned by an old couple, mainly the guy Phil, who constantly cleans and hangs out around the pool when people want to use it. He will make you feel bad, literally... The lobby(office) should be a common area for guests to chill, offering them complimentary food/drink/fruit as a BB, me and my friends hanging out there made him very nervous that he thought we were going to steal things---chill...right after we walked out he locked the lobby, seriously??!! Beach supplies: every time when we visit a BB near a beach they always provide guests complimentary chairs and umbrellas, for this one they even don't allow you to take the towels out of the room.. Wifi: there's no wifi, super bad signal, sucked...sometimes you might get lucky to get one bar and it's gone the next min. Bathroom product: ghetto and cheap Room: super thin wall you can hear your neighbor upstairs turning around in bed, good luck sleeping well! Seriously, pay a bit more to treat yourself if you want to have a good time, plenty other ways to save $$

Very nice European style hotel - charming with a home cooked breakfast buffet! Comfortable beds, courtyard with well kept pool and hot tub. Two blocks to the beach-5-8 minute walk. Restaurants in walking distance. Very quiet at night, little to no traffic noise.

I've been staying at the Serendipity Inn for years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Only two blocks from the beach, this bed and breakfast has some obvious age on it but maintains its charm. Phil is old school about keeping records of his guests in his rolladex but remembers all of them each and every year they come back. There is a limited number of rooms but I've never had trouble getting a reservation, even at peak season. Prices are very reasonable, from $99-$129 during peak season to as low as $59 a night during off season. Breakfast is included and consists of cereal, coffee, juice, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, and a casserole of sort. The pool is always empty and quiet and I've never heard a peep out of anyone there. The place is also close to all the main attractions.

Great CLEAN QUIET Inn within walking distance to the beach. I stayed there one night, the rates were great and the breakfast the following morning with the other couples made for a wonderful experience. I am a fan and will definitely return.

My husband & I stayed here several years ago and enjoyed it. I think the building used to be an apartment building that they converted to a B&B. The building is old, but it was clean. Our room shared an entrance door with another room, which was annoying because we could hear the woman yelling at her kids all of the time & it drove us a little crazy. Once that family checked out, it was nice and peaceful. The pool & hot tub were always empty, the owners were friendly, and the breakfast was good every morning. The cost of the room with the included breakfast was a good deal. We had so much fun during this vacation, I didn't even mind being a couple of blocks from the beach.

Best Inn in Myrtle Beach! Phil is very accommodating, sweet, kind and generous! The breakfast is tasty and different everyday.
